Remmo 20 belongs to a group of gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and stomach ulcers.
The stomach is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, due to excess acid production, the mucous layer gets eroded, which leads to complications like GERD, acidity, peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Esomeprazole, a nonprescription medication available over the counter, is used to treat individuals with regular heartburn.
For adults and children over the age of one, Esomeprazole is prescribed to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which the esophagus (the tube connecting the throat and stomach) may be damaged by the backward flow of acid from the stomach. Esomeprazole is prescribed to treat GERD in adults and children aged one month and older. Adults with GERD can utilize prescription esomeprazole to promote esophageal healing and stop additional esophageal damage. Esomeprazole is frequently used to help adults avoid developing ulcers, which are sores in the lining of the stomach or intestine when using nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs). Along with other drugs, it is also used to treat and stop the recurrence of stomach ulcers in adults brought on by the H. pylori bacterium. Additionally, people with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other disorders caused by excessive stomach acid production are treated with prescription Esomeprazole.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Remmo 20. Please consult your doctor.
Remmo 20 may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies on humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing them to you. Please consult your doctor.
Remmo 20 is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
It is not known whether Remmo 20 alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Remmo 20 is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Remmo 20 is recommended. However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease.
Remmo 20 should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. A dose adjustment of Remmo 20 may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Remmo 20 is to be taken empty stomach.
Remmo 20 is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
Use the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not use two doses at one time.
Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase in the gastric parietal cell, suppressing gastric acid output. The first single optical isomer of a proton pump inhibitor, esomeprazole (S-isomer of omeprazole), provides superior acid control than racemic proton pump inhibitors.

H. pylori eradication (Esomeprazole MUPS tablet with 1000 mg Amoxicillin and 500 mg Clarithromycin)-
Children aged 1 to 11:
Esomeprazole MUPS pill is not recommended for usage in children under the age of one year old.
Esomeprazole MUPS tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid. The tablets should not be chewed or crushed. If required, the tablets can also be dispersed in half a glass of non-carbonated water (mineral water is not suitable). No other liquids should be used. Stir until the tablets disintegrate and drink the liquid with the pellets immediately or within 30 minutes. Rinse the glass with half a glass of water and drink. The pellets must not be chewed or crushed.
CYP2C19 and CYP3A4 metabolize esomeprazole extensively in the liver. Studies conducted in vitro and in vivo have demonstrated that esomeprazole isn't likely to inhibit CYPs 1A2, 2A6, 2C9, 2D6, or 3A4. With medicines processed by these CYP proteins, no clinically important intuition would be expected. According to drug interaction studies, there are no clinically significant interactions between Esomeprazole and phenytoin, warfarin, quinidine, clarithromycin, or amoxicillin. Esomeprazole could interfere with CYP2C19, the enzyme that is primarily responsible for metabolizing the drug. Diazepam's clearance was reduced by 45% when Esomeprazole 30 mg and diazepam, a CYP2C19 substrate, were taken together. Twelve hours after the initial dose and beyond, expanded plasma levels of diazepam have been monitored. Esomeprazole prevents caustic gastrointestinal discharge. Therefore, esomeprazole may interfere with the absorption of medications whose bioavailability is strongly influenced by gastrointestinal pH (such as ketoconazole, and press salts a).
Quinidine, diazepam, phenytoin, or verbal contraceptives shouldn't be used with Esomeprazole because they don't seem to change its pharmacokinetic profile. Clarithromycin in Combination with Other Therapies: Esomeprazole and 14-hydroxy clarithromycin plasma levels have increased as a result of co-administration with clarithromycin and amoxicillin.
Esomeprazole is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation or to substituted Benzimidazoles.
In pregnant women, there are no sufficient and well-controlled trials. No teratogenic effects have been found in animal investigations. Esomeprazole excretion in milk has not been studied. If the use of esomeprazole is thought necessary, breastfeeding should be terminated.
Protect from light and store in a cool, dry area below 25°C. Keep out of children's reach.
